We put our tuning to the test with results from our 2018 (S550) Ford Mustang Ecoboost for development of our OBDII ECU flash tuning system, the TUNERlink. 

As follows, we have drag strip times, Dragy Times, as well as stock vs tuned dyno results for our Mustang Ecoboost (2018). There are significant results from all three testing methods.

DRAGY:

STOCK TIMES:

  • 0-60mph = 6.04s (1ft rollout, 5.75s)
  • 40-100mph = 13.10s
  • 1/4 mile = 14.36s @ 94.95mph

 

TUNED TIMES:

With PHASE 1 TUNE only (91octane)

  • 0-60mph = 5.46s (1ft rollout, 5.20s)
  • 40-100mph = 11.57s
  • 1/4 mile = 13.58s @ 104.29mph

 

With PHASE 1 TUNE, EC INTERCOOLER UPGRADE (Phase 1 revised for intercooler) (91octane)

  • 0-60mph = 5.32s (1ft rollout, 5.00s)
  • 40-100mph = 8.69s
  • 1/4 mile = 13.41s @ 106.50mph

 

 

DRAG STRIP:

With PHASE 1 TUNE, EC INTERCOOLER UPGRADE (Phase 1 revised for intercooler) (91octane)

DYNO:

Dyno runs were performed on our 2WD/4WD HLS Dyno, with power acquired from the rear axle. Corrections are in SAE. 

Vehicle is a MY2018 Ford Mustang Ecoboost 2.3L, 10-Speed Auto, completely stock with 91 Octane. 

Stock Runs were done with 71 F Ambient Temps. Tuned Runs were done in 89 F Ambient Temps.

Engine horsepower calculated by dyno based on dissipation read at the time of the run (using the gear ratio, the dyno measures power lost on coast down). The dyno software uses this dissipation to calculate an engine horsepower number.

  • First Runs done with TUNERlink OBDII Flash Tune (PHASE 1) only, otherwise stock
  • Second Runs done with TUNERlink OBDII Flash Tune (PHASE 1) and Eurocompulsion Big Intercooler Upgrade. Phase 1 Tune was revised and adjusted to optimize the addition of the intercooler.
