The TUNERlink tuning system delivers (2) types of maps for your ECOBOOST MUSTANG:

ECU TUNE: Our proven ECU tuning in a complete package. With our ECU tuning, you will have multiple maps to select from that have been made specific to your vehicle specifications, nothing pre-loaded or off the shelf. This includes our tuning Phases made for max performance on a minimum 91 octane or above. All tuning made with precision based on your datalogs taken directly from your Ecoboost Mustang.

TCM (Transmission) 10R80 TUNE: Upgrade your TCM programming with smoother shifts, faster shift times, increased shift pressures, and adjustments to shift logic for both street and track. This includes improved 1st-2nd gear shift for drivability, reduced hunting and improved shifts for WOT and torque vectoring, always landing you in the right location of the powerband for optimum performance. Reprogramming the shift logic modes (for example, moving drag mode to sport, etc) is also possible.

Our initial goal was to create a well rounded, all purpose map for the Mustang Ecoboost that would encompass improved drivability all around, increase linear torque for performance (and sustain it throughout the powerband), and smooth power while still keeping the setup reliable. 

 

TUNE NOTES:

Cooling is key on the Ecoboost Mustang. Right out of the gate we realized there was power to be had by getting the temperatures down, and we were able to do much more with tuning on even our Phase 1 once our EC Upgraded Intercooler was installed. We highly recommend an intercooler upgrade for anyone deciding to tune, regardless of the stage.

We put our tuning to the test with results from our 2018 (S550) Ford Mustang Ecoboost for development of our OBDII ECU flash tuning system, the TUNERlink. 

 

As follows, we have drag strip times, Dragy Times, as well as stock vs tuned dyno results for our Mustang Ecoboost (2018). There are significant results from all three testing methods.

 

DRAGY:

STOCK TIMES:

  • 0-60mph = 6.04s (1ft rollout, 5.75s)

  • 40-100mph = 13.10s

  • 1/4 mile = 14.36s @ 94.95mph

 

TUNED TIMES:

With PHASE 1 TUNE only (91octane)

  • 0-60mph = 5.46s (1ft rollout, 5.20s)

  • 40-100mph = 11.57s

  • 1/4 mile = 13.58s @ 104.29mph

DYNO:

Dyno runs were performed on our 2WD/4WD HLS Dyno, with power acquired from the rear axle. Corrections are in SAE. 

Vehicle is a MY2018 Ford Mustang Ecoboost 2.3L, 10-Speed Auto, completely stock with 91 Octane. 

Stock Runs were done with 71 F Ambient Temps. Tuned Runs were done in 89 F Ambient Temps.

Engine horsepower calculated by dyno based on dissipation read at the time of the run (using the gear ratio, the dyno measures power lost on coast down). The dyno software uses this dissipation to calculate an engine horsepower number.

  • First Runs done with TUNERlink OBDII Flash Tune (PHASE 1) only, otherwise stock

NOTE: You will receive a setup code via email after purchase, save this code. You will enter this code into your TDN app when setting up the TUNERlink device.

 

QUICK INSTALLATION USER GUIDE

  1. TDN APP: Download the TDN App to your phone. Download links are above. You will need to setup your TDN App with your TUNERlink device plugged into the OBDII port. Make sure you have your setup code that was emailed to you after purchase readily available to enter in to your TDN App.
  2. READING THE ECU & TCU: To read your ECU & TCM, you will use your TDN app and TUNERlink. This is a simple process, and should take about 10-15 minutes. Make sure you have a full battery charge before proceeding. Follow the prompts within the TDN app. Once you are finished, this file will automatically sync to the TUNERlink cloud and upload to us. The TUNERLINK will read both the ECU and TCU into one file, but you will only be receiving back the TCU Tune according to purchase details.
  3. DOCUMENTING YOUR MODS AND TUNE OPTIONS: You will email your TUNE REQUEST FORM to (tuning@eurocompulsion.net). 
  4. LOGGING YOUR VEHICLE: You will want to upload a log file of your car using the TDN app and the TUNERlink device. Once you select the logging function on your app, it will start and automatically log for you using our selected parameters (which are programmed in a scanner configuration we have already loaded to your account). You will want to do some regular driving, part throttle, and full throttle pulls (in 3rd or 4th gear, starting from a lower rpm and going to redline). You can also do some full throttle pulls in automatic mode going through the gears. Once you stop the log, it will load this to our tuning cloud under your account. 
  5. RECEIVING & WRITING YOUR TUNE FILES: We allow for 24-72 business hours for file processing. You will receive a notification via email or via your phone that you have new files available to you on the TUNERlink cloud. Re-sync your files to retrieve them. You can then begin to write to the car, the TDN app will lead you through the procedure. This takes about 60 seconds.
  6. MAP REVISIONS: You are allowed (1) map revision per map you receive, that can also be based on logging or data from the car as well (which you can upload via the cloud). Any requested revisions after this point can be purchased via the MAP REVISION product on our site.
