The TUNERlink tuning system delivers (2) types of remapping for your Wrangler JL:

  1. ECU TUNE: Our proven ECU tuning in a complete package. With our ECU tuning, you will have multiple maps to select from that have been made specific to your vehicle specifications, nothing pre-loaded or off the shelf. This includes our tuning Phases made for max performance on 91 octane or above, additional Phases interpolated down for 87 octane (for those that are octane conscious), and a well rounded Offroad calibration, fit for crawling, towing, and more. All tuning made with precision based on your datalogs taken directly from your Wrangler JL.
  2. TCM (Transmission) TUNE: Upgrade your TCM programming with smoother shifts, faster shift times, and adjustments to shift logic for both street and offroad applications. This includes improved 1st-2nd gear shift for drivability, reduced hunting and improved shifts for WOT and torque vectoring, always landing you in the right location of the powerband for optimum performance. Offroad driving is also improved, with improvements to 4X4 modes and the ability to use 1st Gear for crawling applications.

Using rigorous R&D and countless hours of testing, we have created a very well rounded tune calibration that delivers on all fronts, and aims to take your Wrangler JL to new heights of power and enjoyment!

 

THE PHASE 1 MAPPING:

Our initial goal was to create a well rounded, all purpose map for the Wrangler JL that would encompass improved drivability all around, increase low end torque for performance and crawling/towing (and sustain it throughout the powerband), and still deliver some increased power across the board.


After a great deal of testing we were able to do just that. If you review our BUILD THREAD, you will see it was easy to generate the low end torque, however creating smooth delivery and power up top took more time and refinement. The results are excellent.

 

We also offer an optional 87 octane version of PHASE 1, and an Offroad/Crawler Map (designed for 91 octane  or 87 octane).

 

- APPLICATION:

This mapping works for most all setups and situations.

  • Power and acceleration for when you want to go fast.
  • Added torque for crawling and towing, and enough to compensate for just about any size tires and wheels. 
  • Throttle response and delivery is improved greatly for speed or normal cruising. 
  • This tuning setup was tested in the ice and snow! In 4WD modes, etc. It was solid in all conditions.

 

- FUEL CONSUMPTION:

Most of this tune testing on the road was performed with a 35" tire setup. Our average MPG hovers around 19mpg, that includes aggressive driving and cruising/everyday driving. AFRS are modest, hovering around 11:1 at WOT. That's a bit leaner than the factory, but still conservative.

 

- BOOST:

Turbo pressures are very linear on this tune, peaking at 24psi up from 20-21psi from the factory, sustaining and then dropping back down to 20 near redline. This helps keep catalyst temps under control and allows for a slight bump in spark advance for power without compromising safety. 

 

- ECU TUNE OPTIONS:

Our mapping is made based on your individual software variants, location, fuel octane of choice, and personal modifications. These include:

  • Raised rev limiter (+250rpm)
  • Auto Stop/Start Default OFF
  • Optimization for Hi Flow Catted Downpipes or other Downpipes
  • Exhaust systems
  • Intake Systems
  • Individual octane choice
  • Intercooling and charge system upgrades
  • Also included: optional PHASE 1 (87 Octane version) and Offroad/Crawler Tune.

 

- TCM TUNE OPTIONS:

 

  • Faster/Smoother Shifts throughout the powerband
  • Longer shift hold at higher RPM/WOT situations
  • Improved Torque Vectoring Upshift timing and placement
  • Smoother/Improved 1st to 2nd Gear shifts drivability (especially under normal driving and part throttle)
  • Optional: 1st gear shifting made available in autostick mode while in 4X4 Offroad modes

 

 

 

-DYNO TESTING:

Dyno testing was performed on a MY2020 Jeep Wrangler JL 2.0L Turbo, US spec. Dyno is a Dimsport HLS4WD system. Fuel used was 91 octane pump gas. Dyno corrections made in SAE.

QUICK INSTALLATION USER GUIDE

 

  1. ECU PATCH UNLOCK: First, your ECU needs to be patch unlocked (required on all Dodge/Jeep Vehicles currently).  You will remove the ECU using the instructions above, and send this ECU to us for unlock. Make sure to include your name, return address, and order #. Our turn around is 24-72 business hours (MON-FRI), we will get this back to you as soon as possible. NOTE: For non E-Torque models, you are able to purchase a spare or used ECU, and use this ECU for you patch unlock (and that will be the ECU you tune on). However, we will still need your original ECU with the spare in order to clone the spare properly.
  2. SGW BYPASS MODULE: While your ECU is out of the car, this is a good time to install your SGW Bypass into your SGW module (bypass is included with your kit). The SGW module is located right above the OBDII port and is accessible from the floor area on the driver side. You should be able to reach your hand upwards to it without removing anything (photo below). Simply unplug the (2) plugs connected to the SGW module, and plug those into your SGW Bypass. Tuck the bypass away somewhere safe.
  3. TDN APP and RTD FLASHER SETUP: Once you have received your ECU back and re-installed, it's time to download the TDN App to your phone, and the RTD Flasher to a portable Windows Device. Both download links are above. You will need to setup your TDN App with your TUNERlink device plugged into the OBDII port. Make sure you have your setup code that was emailed to you after purchase readily available to enter in to your TDN App.
  4. READING THE ECU & TCU: To read your TCM (if applicable), you will use your TDN app and TUNERlink. This is a simple process, and should take about 10-15 minutes. Make sure you have a full battery charge before proceeding. Follow the prompts within the TDN app. Once you are finished, this file will automatically sync to the TUNERlink cloud and upload to us. To read your ECU, you will connect the provided USB to USB Type C cable from your TUNERlink to your Windows device. Open the RTD flasher, turn on the ignition, and select the “READ FILE” button at the top. Follow the prompts, this should take 10-15 minutes.
  5. SAVING & SENDING YOUR ECU READ FILE: Once the read is complete, you will be saving your file to your computer. You will email this tune file along with your TUNE REQUEST FORM to (tuning@eurocompulsion.net). 
  6. LOGGING YOUR VEHICLE: You will want to upload a log file of your car using the TDN app and the TUNERlink device. Once you select the logging function on your app, it will start and automatically log for you using our selected parameters (which are programmed in a scanner configuration we have already loaded to your account). You will want to do some regular driving, part throttle, and full throttle pulls (in 3rd or 4th gear, starting from a lower rpm and going to redline). You can also do some full throttle pulls in automatic mode going through the gears. Once you stop the log, it will load this to our tuning cloud under your account. 
  7. RECEIVING & WRITING YOUR TUNE FILES: We allow for 24-72 business hours for file processing. You will receive a notification via email that you have new files available to you on the TUNERlink cloud. Your TCM file will load automatically on the cloud for you, and you can re-sync your files to retrieve them.  Your ECU file will be emailed to you directly. You will save this to your computer and use the RTD Flasher to write this file to your ECU. Both files take about 60 seconds to write to your ECU.
  8. MAP REVISIONS: You are allowed (1) map revision per map you receive, that can also be based on logging or data from the car as well (which you can upload via the cloud). Any requested revisions after this point can be purchased via the MAP REVISION product on our site.

Really impressed with the service from Eurocompulsion. The increase in performance is impressive. Much more fun to drive and shifting is so much better than stock.
