WASTEGATE ACTUATOR (1.4L MULTIAIR TURBO)

Forge Motorsport Waste-gate actuator for the ABARTH, Fiat 500T, Fiat 500L, Fiat 124 Spider, and DODGE DART 1.4L fits directly to the turbocharger casting. Requiring no additional brackets.

This wastegate is a great upgrade over the stock wastegate and is highly recommended for those running a tune or turbo upgrades. Designed for adjustability, this is a plug-and-play part on the stock turbo and our 1446+ turbo upgrade. The ability to select a higher tension spring and manually set crack pressure allows for better peak boost precision and sustainability throughout the powerband, especially when combining with tuning.

This product is built with a predetermined actuator spring suitable for at, or slightly above factory boost levels. The actuator can be assembled with a stiffer spring upon request.

It is designed and built with the intention of increasing the boost output of a turbocharged system. We cannot guarantee compatibility with all applications, nor the ability to increase the boost output beyond a level that is within the parameters set by the engine management system of the given vehicle at the time of installation, whether that system is factory or aftermarket.

This unit comes with the yellow spring pre-installed. For further adjustments and tuning capabilities, we recommend getting the FORGE ACTUATOR SPRING KIT (comes automatically included with the 124 ABARTH/SPIDER)

APPLICATIONS:

  • FIAT 500 ABARTH
  • FIAT 500T
  • FIAT 500 SPORT (2019+)
  • FIAT 124 SPIDER
  • FIAT 124 ABARTH
  • FIAT 500L
  • DODGE DART 1.4L
  • JEEP RENEGADE 1.4L
  • FIAT 500X 1.4L

RECOMMENDED SPRING AND CRACK PRESSURE SETTINGS:

  • Stock Tune (Green Spring/7-10psi CP)
  • Tuned (124 ABARTH/SPIDER) (Yellow Spring/15psi CP)
  • Tuned (All Other Models) (Yellow Spring/15psi CP)
  • Tuned Vehicles and Upgraded Turbo vehicles are free to use different springs and crack pressure settings depending on user's preference or setup.

NOTE: Forge Motorsport nor any of it’s authorized distributors can assume any responsibility for any adverse effects resulting from the installation and tuning of this product onto a vehicle whose engine-management-system, whether factory or aftermarket, is not capable of allowing for the desired level of adjustment. While Forge Motorsport is happy to supply you with an actuator capable of holding boost beyond that of your factory unit we are in no way capable of knowing nor suggesting that your vehicle's engine or related systems are capable of supporting or surviving the stresses of such elevated boost pressure.

Love It..

Jeremiah below listed about everything I was planning to state..

I contacted customer service about the proper pre-load and they got back to me with a reply very quickly! I'm impressed with the service and products!

Better than OEM with more capability

I didn't expect this part to make much difference, but boy I was proven wrong! It must hold boost better than the OEM part or at a little higher pressure (green spring) since the car pulled harder and smoother than before the install. Just take your time and go step by step. It's best to let the engine cool down, unlike my install, but gloves and rags saved the day. One tip is to bend the secondary heat shield up, which saves you the hassle of removing it. It's thick enough where it bends back and reinstalls just fine. Use extra care to not drop any bolts, nuts, or the C-clip (rag under it when removing saves the day). Be sure to set the proper preload and you are good to go. It's nice to have the ability to change the spring rate inside to run more boost when changing your tune. This part's build quality is superior to OEM as well.

A very well made part from Forge Motorsports

You'll likely need to ream out the compressor housing waste-gate flange with a round file to accept the bolts on the back of the new waste-gate, but once the proper amount of aluminum is removed it slides in nicely. In order for the waste-gate solenoid tubes to align without modification, I disassembled the unit and turned the diaphragm portion (top half) enough for the tubing connector to align without altering the rubber/plastic tubing from the solenoid. This is also a good time to check and make sure you have the proper color spring installed from the supplier.

Follow the instructions in the provided YouTube video above to ensure proper preload and you should be good to go. If you loose the E clip during disassembly, don't worry you should be able to pick one up at home depot for a few cents.
