Ok when buying this shift knob I really wanted to like it seeing as it was one of the only few options my Abarth had that fit. The shifter does feel good on my hands and the shifting feels better. But the thing is, if you dont have a short shifter already installed (an actual one not the adapter), the shift boot will slide down on you while you shift because the shift boot is too short. I took off the original zip tie on the underside and installed the knob and put on another zip tie underneath the shift boot and when I went to shift the boot slide down. Disappointed. The shift knob and face plate is also made of plastic with the adapter being the only aluminum piece. Lastly, mine came without the gear numbers, which was also a disappointment.
Hey Calvin, we apologize that you found the shift knob not up to standard. If there's anything we can do via Cravenspeed to improve your experience with the product please let us know. Also, the 'color & type' drop down menu specifies there are two types of knobs, one that is plain, and another with the shift pattern. I believe you selected the plain option in red on your order (perhaps not intentionally), this may have been why there was no shift pattern on the knob. Again, if there's anything we can do please contact us.
This is a high quality 3-peice shift knob. It comes with the metal base collar, the acetal outer portion and the cap with the shift pattern (and corresponding screws). This knob is the perfect shape. It fits in the hand and is quite comfortable; way better than the awkward OEM knob. The cap has a textured feel, which is actually pretty nice in the palm as well. It is pretty much the same weight as the stock knob, and I actually think it may be slightly lighter. What's nice is that the base collar has a lip that you can slip the stock shifter boot onto and it holds the boot up to the bottom of the knob. I think I would have preferred knurled bands on the knob itself rather than cut grooves; but overall; I'm pretty happy. There aren't many OEM fit knobs for the Abarth and I feel this is on of the best.
Great service and quick shipping from EUROCompulsion. Very satisfied.
