Universal Catch can

Oil Catch Can works as needed but the cost you save with this vs their other fitted Catch can is about the same. Spent about $30 to get makeshift hoses to go from the car's 10 mm outlets to the Mitshimoto nozzle's size with 2 hoses, brass hose reducers, and about 3 different hardware store visits. Avoid all the hassle and just get the EC alternative.

Universal Catch Can

Great build quality and compact size. As previously mentioned it does not include baffling but even used as is I find that it is doing it's job and has diverted a decent amount of oil from getting into the intake in my 2014 Dodge Dart. Install location and routing may determine how much oil gets caught obviously. Have had it installed for about 15-20 000kms now and it has probably collected a quarter quart in that time. Glad that's not getting into my intake or turbo!

Expensive and lacking any baffling

Yeah, it's small enough to fit in a stock intake bay and looks nice, but it has no baffling inside, just approximately a 1/2" tube and a 1" tube. I am unsure how this expensive named can is supposed to trap much of anything. I "upgraded" it by fitting 1 stainless steel scrubber through the drain hole underneath (there is no lid to unscrew); had to stretch it out and painstakingly shove a bit at a time in with a chopstick, but the whole thing went in with I think acceptable density. I think ideally one would use 1/2 to 3/4 of one but I didn't want to cut it and risk tiny fragments.

Had it in for a few thousand miles on my DD and visually I can see the intake hose clouded with oils and a clean exit, so I'm pleased that it's doing something. I have no measurable amount of fluid to drain yet, which I find interesting but did not know what to expect.

These are universal kits from mishimoto. We have our catch can that include baffling specifically for the Fiat 500 Abarth and Fiat 124 models. Glad it is working as intended, however since it is a universal part not built specifically for any car you may need to make some adjustments.
